A Little About Me!!~

I was very fortunate to grow up in a small town in western North Dakota, Richardton. My family has shaped me into the person I am today. My parents are Mark and Sheri Aman and I am the youngest of three children. I have two older brothers whom have both served in the military, and have traveled overseas. My family is the most important aspect in my life and they have taught me the
importance of strong work ethics.
I attended Taylor-Richardton Elementary school in Taylor, ND from Kindergarten until sixth grade. I then traveled to Richardton-Taylor High School in Richardton, ND for the remainder of my high school years. Throughout high school, I participated in track, volleyball, basketball, student congress, speech, one-act plays, musicals, and was part of the National Forensics League. After high school I choose North Dakota State University to pursue a career in Elementary Education where I plan to graduate in May, 2012.
Aside from taking part in numerous athletic and fine arts programs, I had the opportunity to be the primary swimming instructor for levels one through three for three consecutive years and to coach a dance team for three years. I taught girls, ages three to six, dance routines, which they performed during halftime at certain athletic events. From these two experiences I think this is when I developed a passion for teaching. I learned the importance of detailed instruction, responsibility, and being able to communicate with parents is
extremely important.
Throughout college I had the opportunity to complete three practicums. I completed two of my practicums in Fargo, ND and one in Parshall, ND. During these practicums I had the opportunity to teach multiple lessons, create bulletin boards, answer questions, use formal and informal assessment, and gain important advice from my cooperating teachers. Also, I have gained confidence in my abilities and now have the courage to teach students on my own.
I am excited to student teach and I hope to one day make an impact on the future generations as they pass through my classroom.
